Completely remove an app from your Mac
- [ ] Suggest run a backup before removing.
- [ ] For example, we’ll call the app to be deleted, “DeleteMe”
- [ ] via the Finder, drag DeleteMe from the Applications folder to your trash
- [ ] in your User Account>Library>Applications Support, drag the DeleteMe folder to the trash
- [ ] in Your User Account>Library>Preferences folder, trash the com.DeleteMe.DeleteMe.plist file/s
- [ ] Reboot your mac
- [ ] In terminal run mdfind -name “DeleteMe” to find left over files. Check each file. Be careful, you may want to keep these.
- [ ] remove unwanted files with sudo rm -rf /FileName.xxx
- [ ] Suggest don’t empty your trash can right away, wait and make sure you didn’t delete
anything that you actually want/need to keep.
