The Severe Acute Respiratory Infections network (SARInet)
SI helps those who help save the world
The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) is part of the WHO and serves as the international health agency for the Americas. It works with countries throughout the region to improve and protect people's health.
PAHO engages in technical cooperation with its member countries to fight communicable and noncommunicable diseases and their causes, to strengthen health systems, and to respond to emergencies and disasters.
The Severe Acute Respiratory Infections network (SARInet) is a regional collaboration of professionals within hospitals, laboratories, and associated organizations who participate in SARI surveillance in the Americas.
SARInet.org is a website that helps PAHO researchers organize, share, and publish various data needed to reach their goal: a virus free world. The site is based on Drupal and includes news, events, research reports, API connections to customized software, and more.
SARInet.org asked Simple Information (SI) to upgrade their Drupal installation from D7 to D9 and simultaneously develop a new, exciting, and most important, user-friendly theme. Working with SARInet staff, SI met the goals; implementing a bi-lingual, extremely user friendly design that let's researchers around the world easily upload and share critical reports and research in. The site also includes an event management system with a calendar. As is the usual case with SI, the project was completed on time and within their budget.
